Brazilian petrochemical company PetroquímicaSuape, a subsidiary of Petrobras, is expecting to begin operations at its purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant in Latin America, by Q4 2010.
Based in the Port of Suape, Pernambuco, Brazil, the facility will annually produce 640,000 tons of PTA, which will be used to manufacture PET resin for packaging in another facility.
The facilities are part of the R4bn (US$2.1bn) integrated project being developed in Brazil.
